This is a plain-aire painting that I did when I was abroad in Vienna, Austria! The building is the famous opera house in the middle of the city, located across the street from the school I was attending. I woke up early (around 5am) one morning to paint it! The view is from the top of the Albertina Art museum steps.

Making it was a fun synthesis of the sights and artwork I had been looking at and being inspired by while visiting Vienna.

I gave it to the academy I was studying at, so it is now located in Vienna! Unfortunately I didn’t get a better picture before I left.
